Warwick man fined for lashing out at ex

LASHING out at a persistent ex has earned a Warwick man a fine.

The 41-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, shoved and hit the woman in the mouth during a night out on October 19.

The Warwick Magistrates Court this week heard the pair got involved in a serious verbal altercation that quickly turned physical outside the Warwick pub.

The man admitted to pushing and slapping the woman but denied ever punching her and said she was the aggressor.

She was left with a bloodied lip as a result of the dispute.

He said she had punched him off a stool after became enraged at him for socialising with a female friend.

Defence counsel for the man added that the woman continued to hit and shove the man as he tried to escape her wrath.

The man this week pleaded guilty to breaching a domestic violence order.

It's understood the man now has a similar order against the woman.

He was fined $400.

No conviction was recorded against him.
