Man accused of murdering mum has case adjourned again

A YOUNG Gladstone man accused of murdering his mother last year was represented in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday.

Horace Lorenzo Jones is remanded in the Capricornia Correctional Centre.

He has been charged with the murder of his mother, Bundaberg woman Roxane Jones. Her body was discovered in her 1999 Kia Sportage in Gladstone bushland in July.

Jones was charged with the murder several days after the body was discovered.

Jones' lawyer from Legal Aid Bundaberg appeared for him on Monday via telephone link.

The lawyer asked the court for a lengthy adjournment so she could discuss the brief of evidence with her client.

Magistrate Russell Warfield adjourned the matter, with Jones set to appear by video link on July 22 for further committal mention.

Along with the defendant, Ms Jones left behind a teenage daughter and a three-year-old son.
