GYMPIE online blogger Bruce Devereaux made his television debut on The Project last night.
Mr Devereaux was one of three dads interviewed for a segment about 'daddy bloggers'.
The interview was filmed at the Gympie father's home earlier in the week.
Sparking the interview with The Project was an article in The Age newspaper about fathers using cyberspace to chronicle the adventures of family life.
"One of the guys interviewed for that article gave my details and it went from there," a humbled Mr Devereaux said.
The Gympie man, father of seven, was first opposed to the interview.
"I don't like public speaking but I felt better knowing it was being filmed ahead of the show," he said.
Mr Devereaux's parenting blog treads unfamiliar territory. The online world is full of parenting blogs from a woman's and mother's perspective.
"A lot of people say they enjoy reading a man's perspective," Mr Devereaux said.
The blog started out small and the Gympie father rejoiced when he first attracted 20 page views. Now the page is recording traffic in the thousands.
The parenting blog documents the quirky adventures and antics of Mr Devereaux's family. No one is safe from appearing in the blog.
"My kids love it," he said. "They often come home from school and tell me about funny things that have happened."
One memorable blog recounts the time when one of Mr Devereaux's children got their head caught between the posts of the bed.
And while readers can relate to the mayhem of family life, the Gympie blogger said it also served the purpose of recording family history for future generations.
"I love the madness of it all but it's also a fun way of recording family history," Mr Devereaux said.
"This is what the grandchildren will be reading in the years to come.
"I hope they will get a sense of what life was like in the family and people's personalities."
Mr Devereaux's wife Tracey also makes the blog, but she does wield strong veto power.
"Tracey has veto power but she rarely uses it," Mr Devereaux said.
"She tells me clearly what is not for the blog."
