Dalby Triathlon back again

THE annual Dalby Triathlon returns this Sunday, March 5, and all competitors are welcome.

The event has several events that suit all levels of fitness and experience.

President of Dalby Tri Sports Paul Renner said the event is a great way for people to enjoy the sport of triathlon.

"The aim is to give people exposure to the sport and allow them to have a go at it in a less competitive environment,” Mr Renner said.

"Most people aren't in it to win, they are just in it to have fun.”

One of the more popular events is the Enticer Race, a shortened triathlon aimed at encouraging people to try the sport.

Darren Taylor did his first triathlon four years ago in Dalby and it has sparked

off a love affair with the sport.

"I started with the sprint triathlon and I really loved the running and cycling,” Mr Taylor said.

"I will be doing the men's triathlon this weekend, and then next weekend will be my third Mooloolaba Triathlon.”

The first race starts from 5.45am and will continue throughout the morning.
