EXPECT to see genuine terror on Denise Drysdale's face when she makes her reality TV debut on Celebrity Splash tomorrow night.

The Gold Logie winner admits she's in the deep end when it comes to jumping off a high dive.

The new TV series follows Drysdale and 13 other celebrities as they learn how to high dive and get judged on their efforts by Matthew Mitcham, Alisa Camplin and Greg Louganis.

"I don't even like to get my head wet," Drysdale said.

"I'm one of those ladies who slip into the pool and keep her head above water."

Drysdale, who said she's not even a strong swimmer, has been trying to overcome her fear of heights during her recent training sessions in Melbourne.

But it's been a hard slog.

"I panicked the first time I jumped off the high one," she said.

"I put my feet out straight and landed on my bottom and bruised my legs.

"I lost my confidence, so I had to go back to the lower levels and start again."

Just talking about Monday's premiere makes Drysdale's stomach turn.

"I am petrified," she said.

"But once I commit to something that's it. I've said yes, but I'll be glad when it's all over.

"People go 'are you having fun?' and I say 'the after party will be fun'."

But the former Circle co-host, affectionately known to many as Ding-Dong, is able to see the humour in it.

"It's a very lonely walk up those stairs (to the high dive). I think they should put a lift in," she quipped.

She hopes her appearance on the show will inspire women to overcome their swimwear inhibitions.

"Some women are too scared to put on a pair of bathers when they take their kids to the pool," she said.

"If I can make one person put on a pair of bathers then it's good. That's one of my big things about doing it."

Celebrity Splash debuts on Channel 7 tonight at 7.30pm and continues on Tuesday.
