Dalby dog lovers rally for a cause

DOG-lovers will descend on Thomas Jack Park next month to kick-off Dalby's first Million Paws Walk.

The Millions Paws Walk is the main annual fundraiser for the RSPCA, and local lady Zoe Flowers wants to get the idea off the ground in Dalby.

"I went to one at the Sunshine Coast when I was living there. It's just a great idea," she said.

"Dalby doesn't have all that many community events, so when I came back here, I knew it was something I wanted to do.

"It's just a day to make friends and have dogs socialise with each other,

"Hopefully, people will learn something, get together and have a good time."

The Million Paws Walk is a dog-only event that is happening on May 19.

Dogs and their owners will walk the 3km track from Thomas Jack Park, up Bunya St to Myall Ck, and back again.

A small team of dedicated committee members have been working hard to establish the event.

They hope it will surpass Chinchilla's numbers.

"Chinch had 99 last year, so we're hoping to get at least that," she said.

"We've got to beat Chinchilla."
