IF THERE is any wise business to be getting into today, it's laser tattoo removal - or at least ensuring people get the right permanent ink to begin with.

As a tattooist and beauty therapist, Jodie Balfour from Isis, knows this and has taken it upon herself to make sure people know what they're getting into when they go under the needle.

Mrs Balfour has launched an app, Tattoo Share, that allows people to upload an image of their desired tattoo, and a photo of themself.

The app then puts the tattoo onto the photo, creating an image of what you would look like with that particular design on your body.

"So many people are getting tattoos taken off because they made the wrong decision," Mrs Balfour said.

"So this allows them to see the tattoo on them before they get it."

Gone are the days when sticky-taping a print-out to your arm or leg was the best way to gauge what the tattoo would look like.

Mrs Balfour has brought this into the digital revolution.

The best part - you can access it anywhere in the world.

Her main target market at the moment is 18-24-year-old American women.

That's not to say the blokes and local lasses aren't getting in on the action because what can take just a few minutes now, could save you a whole lot in the future if you decide the tattoo isn't for you.

"The idea is to promote other tattoo artists as well and get them on board - it's not about me," Mrs Balfour said.

The app is just 99c and available for everything except androids.

Head to her Facebook page Tattoo Share App and click on the link straight to the app store.
