A DALBY man has received the shock of his life after winning $3 million in last week's Powerball draw.

The "down-to-earth" man admitted he had no idea he held a division one winner in the February 8 draw.

On top of his $3m win, the man also took home another $230,000 after his two-entry PowerHit also won division two 19 times.

The winner was shocked when he was told this week.

"Yeah, nah, that's pretty good. I didn't have a clue. I hadn't heard there'd been a win in town," he said.

"I can't get my head around it.

"I just came in to buy the paper and buy a ticket for tonight's Powerball draw!"

Despite being a multi-millionaire, the man said he had no plans to stop working.

"Don't know.  Couldn't tell you. I'll pay the house off, go from there and think about it after," he laughed.

"But I'll definitely have a spring in my step today and be celebrating.

"I've worked all my life and I still will."

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning two-game PowerHit entry at Dalby Newsagency, on Cunningham Street.
