A 33-YEAR-old male motorbike rider is in a critical condition after colliding with a tree at Blackswamp north of Chinchilla.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene of the crash at 2.56pm yesterday to treat the patient who sustained suspected head injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Paramedics and LifeFlight's critical care doctor treated the patient at the scene before transporting him to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital for further medical treatment.
