Mustangs colts climb ladder with win

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Western Mustangs climb off the bottom of the FOGS Cup Colts Challenge ladder with an away 30-24 win over Wynnum-Manly.

The Mustangs rallied from 24-8 down just after half-time and ran in four-straight tries to close out a six-point victory on Saturday.

Six separate try-scorers crossed the line for the Mustangs, while Jazz Namana made a return from injury on the wing.

Youngster Cory Paix scored a try for the Mustangs and had a strong game after he was given clearance from the Broncos to play in the under 20s.

The result sees the Mustangs move two points ahead of last-placed Wynnum-Manly on the ladder with two games left in the regular season.

The Mustangs are away against Tweed Heads on August 20 before a final-round away game against Sunshine Coast on August 27.
