New England Hwy closed after motorbike crash

BREAKING: A motorbike rider has suffered injuries in a traffic crash north of Toowoomba this morning.

The New England Hwy near Geham is closed after the motorbike crashed in the single-vehicle incident about 10.45am.

Police said a man and woman were onboard the motorbike when it crashed.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the male rider was being treated for arm and shoulder injuries.

A police spokeswoman said diversions were in place on the New England Hwy for smaller vehicles, however trucks are not able to use the alternative route.

It is understood council crews have been tasked to clear a tree that has fallen in the area.
