Quick thinking neighbour contains small fire

QUICK thinking by a neighbour prevented possible injury to children in Charles St last night.

Emergency services were called to a Charles St address after 7pm, after reports were made of a small fire outside the home.

A Dalby Fire spokesperson said children were on a lounge suite outside the home and were playing with an object which is believed to have set the lounge on fire.

A spokesperson for Dalby Police said the next door neighbour first noticed the fire and was able to remove the kids from the lounge, phone emergency services and contain the small blaze with a garden hose.

Fire fighters made short work of the flame when they arrived.

No one was injured in the incident.
