THE first state CAMS championships on the re-surfaced Morgan Park Raceway will be held this weekend.

There are more than 100 starters in an event with head to head racing.

The first round of the super sprints for B drivers will be next weekend.

This weekend is the first state championship round of the year.

RSL racing

ONE week to go to the Warwick RSL Memorial Club Long Tan Cup meeting at Allman Park.

Seems like if it is going to rain, it will be this weekend and then we could have fine weather for the races which will feature the running of the Long Tan Cup.

There was a large turnout of Warwick trainers at the picnic races and the odds are it will be the same next weekend.

Horse trials weekend

IT is only eight weeks to the Warwick Horse Trials 21st anniversary celebrations.

The Friday night anniversary dinner will precede the July 15-16 weekend of eventing.

Past president Simon Goddard is writing a history on the club which will be launched on the anniversary weekend. Not bad for a club to transform some bushland at Morgan Park into the best eventing complex in the state in 21 years. Hard work by volunteers again.

Good to see past Warwick members Kevin and Emma McNab selected this week to represent Australia.
