Tourist survives moments trapped in crocodile's mouth

A FRENCH tourist who gave an angry Northern Territory crocodile "a little cuddle" in an attempt to calm it down, has lived to tell the tale.

Yoann Galeran, 29, was swimming in north-eastern Arnhem Land when he was attacked by a two-metre crocodile on Sunday night.

He told the NT News he was in the croc's mouth for less than a second when he "touched the body of the croc underneath the skull", pushed him away and had the chance to swim to his dingy.

He joked he "gave him a little cuddle and (the croc) said "he is nice, he is nice" so he left me alone.

Galeran escaped with a few stitches to his neck and head.
