Truck fire stops traffic through Dalby

TRAFFIC was at a standstill in Dalby on Tuesday night after a truck fire sent Drayton St into lockdown.

The truck was at a set of lights at the intersection of Drayton and Condamine Sts at around 6.30pm when the brakes overheated and caused the tyre to explode.

The driver of the truck and a quick-thinking passer-by extinguished the initial flame, but the tyre ignited again before firefighters were able to douse it a second time.

Drayton St was closed between Condamine and Pratten Sts.

There are no reports of injury.
