Wattles live to fight another day

RUGBY LEAGUE: Wattles have qualified for week 2 of the Toowoomba Rugby League finals with a 20-18 knockout semi final win on Saturday night at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

Half Matt Duggan landed a penalty goal in extra time from 25 metres for a 20-18 win.

Highfields turned their form around from a fortnight earlier when they were soundly beaten by Wattles in a round game.

Wattles will now play the winner of today's game between Pittsworth and Souths in another knockout semi final next weekend.

Warwick has finals game from 10am today at Clive Berghofer Stadium in second division, under 18 and reserve grade. All winning Warwick teams this Sunday will play Saturday's winners next weekend.

Reserve grade: Brothers 30 (Sam Betros, Lynton Gaulton, Alex McErlean, Kham Millward, Jacob Sommerfeld tries. Matthew Cottee 3 Sam Betros 2 goals defeated Highfields 12 (Tyson Mitchell, Brent Tucker tries Charlie Adams 2 goals)

Under 18: Souths 45 (Matthew Arndt 5, Josh James, Luke Maiden, Mitchell Murphy, Isaac Waters tries. Matthew Arndt 4 goals Jai Cooke Field Goal defeated Highfields 26 (Kyle Betros 2, Josh Croft, Jack Doig, Richard Murray tries Richard Murray 3 goals)

Second division: Dalby 48 (Luke Tarrant 4, Allan Dodd, Dylan Bower, Alan Davis, Chris Woodbridge tries. Luke Tarrant 4, Allan Dodd, Richard Woodbridge goals) defeated Brothers (Brendan Hanrahan, Wayne Holley, Jason Phillips, Adam Sutton tries Adam Sutton 3 goals)
